With all the many tactics you can use nowadays to promote your brand, TikTok, which is the most downloaded app in the world, might not be your first choice in strategy. But it is a B2B strategy for some brands. And you never know when it might be a good strategy for yours.
In 2020 TikTok surpassed the likes of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Snapchat in App Store and Google Play downloads. By the start of 2021, TikTok had 689 million active users worldwide, 100 million of which are said to be in the US, consuming over a billion videos each day.
In the U.S, females on TikTok outnumber males nearly 2:1. Forty-one percent of TikTok users are aged between 16 and 24. And TikTok users reportedly spend an average of 52 minutes per day on the app.
The influence of TikTok is undeniable. Thirty percent of TikTok users in the U.S. said they watch less TV, streaming, and other video content since joining TikTok, according to a March 2021 Kantar study. In less than 18 months, the number of US adult TikTok users grew 5.5 times.
It fuels the creator economy, and even cultivates thriving communities apparently. In spite of this, most brands are hesitant to join.
