As we head into the new year, let’s take an opportunity to capture the year we are leaving behind, give thanks, and set a course for the new year.

Look Back at 2018

AutoConverse – Future Mobility & Connectivity

The year began with a vision – a vision to unleash the AutoConverse brand. There’s a good story behind AutoConverse, which initially began in 2010. All this time, AutoConverse has been quiet in the corridors…but no more. In 2018, AutoConverse came alive, and is now our flagship brand.

To do this, we had to re-align our efforts and allocate necessary resources. I am happy to report that we accomplished this.

In 2018 we revamped the AutoConverse blog, and we introduced the AutoConverse Podcast and Live Weekly Broadcast. AutoConverse is about “future mobility and connectivity” which you can learn more about it on this post.

AC Masterminds

Since a weekly show and podcast aren’t really enough to build a future on (being facetious here), we thought it would be a great idea to introduce a whole other new media initiative. Therefore, in September, we rolled out the AC Masterminds.

If you visit the Masterminds menu on our website, you will see we presently offer two types

  1. Auto Retail
  2. B2B Sales & Marketing

The idea behind the Masterminds is to break away from the outdated webinar marketing model, and give people a platform where they can collaborate and contribute. With more than 5 recurring series, the Masterminds have quickly become a premier resource for us in only a few short months.

Goodbye BlogPro Automotive

One tough decision we made in 2018 was the phasing out of BlogPro Automotive, my very first blog ever, which was launched in September 2006. In fact, the original BlogPro is still located on BlogSpot, at blogproautomo.blogspot.com.

The tough decision to do this was based on the reality that it was competing for eyeballs with AutoConverse. As difficult as this decision was to make, it was necessary for moving forward. The domain shall remain online indefinitely, and we are in the process of selectively moving its contents over to AutoConverse.

Hello AutoBurst Media

Another great accomplishment in 2018 was the re-vamping of AutoBurst Media, a brand that was loitering around inside AutoConversion for years. AutoBurst has seen many faces. White Collar Therapy – Coffee, Friends, and Career

Every once in a while, a great idea comes along and you run with it, but it doesn’t necessarily turn out as you might expect. WCT is just that.

Nearly 3 years ago, the concept of WCT began as a group of business professionals meeting regularly in a whiskey bar.  Today, WCT is two good friends meeting for coffee every couple of weeks to talk about important matters that impact both their personal and professional lives.

The show is streamed live every other week, and in between those weeks the podcast version of the previous show is released onto the WCT Podcast. Read the post, Therapeutic Entertainment for Business People, for more information about this new media initiative launched in 2018.

WCT is another great example of what we do for businesses.

The All-New AutoConversion B2B Multimedia Network

To make all of this possible, the AutoConversion blog and website itself had to be revamped. If you look around on the site now you will see a complete restructure, beginning with the menu bar now featuring a Programming section, a Shows section, a Masterminds section, and a Podcasts section.

Each of these new sections populates before you a list of items related to those menus. Effectively, the AutoConversion website is now an official media network, featuring a variety of different programming for various audiences.

Looking “up” is our way of saying “thank you.” Be sure to catch the video below of me thanking everyone for their involvement. The people mentioned in the video are those who appeared in our programs more than once in our first year.

Look Ahead to 2019

And now for 2019. With the AutoConversion platform firmly in place, and with our programming in motion, we see 2019 as a year of growth and prosperity. This might seem cliche (after all, isn’t that most peoples’ New Years wishes every year?), and it would be, except that for us growth and prosperity aren’t just words. They are missions…with action.

Growth is a process, and with defined targets we have goals. Our growth goals include:

  • Growing our programming by introducing new shows and podcasts. We believe it’s possible to introduce at least 2-3 new shows and/or podcasts to the network this year, and maybe even more.
  • Expanding our network of Influencers and Contributors. In 2018, the goal was to have 20-25 influencers and contributors on the network. We ended the year with 45. For 2019, I believe we can have at least 100 people and personalities on the network contributing their time and thought leadership, and their influence.
  • Extending our reach. When 2018 began, we estimated that we were reaching around 4,000-6,000 people each month across our network of blogs, email lists, and social media. By year’s end, that number was consistently surpassing 10k. For 2019, we want to see this reach increase each month by the thousands so that come year-end we are reaching at least 25,000 people (or more). Our reach is all organic, and not acquired through paid media. In addition to this reach, our consumption of content increased by more than 125% in almost all categories across all platforms, that is: impressions, downloads, videos viewed, minutes viewed, and website traffic.

As we strive towards these goals, our team will grow. In 2018, the marketing and production team at AutoBurst Media was supported by two bloggers, an email marketing coordinator, a social media coordinator, a web designer, 5 video editors, 2 audio engineers. In addition to these folks we also are supported by essential organization roles such as client services, accounting, IT, etc.
