If you’re into podcasting, then you’re going to love the All-new Future Mobility & Connectivity Podcast launched in March 2018. If you’re not yet into podcasting, then maybe this would be a good time to get into it.
Why a Podcast?
Podcasting has been and continues to become a preferred medium of choice for people, quickly outranking Blogs and Email, and now competing with Radio, TV, and Social Media.
According to PodcastInsights.com:
- More than 44% of people in the US have listened to one or more podcasts
- 64% of the US population is familiar with the term “podcasting” – up from 60% in 2017
- 50% of all US homes are podcast fans
- 44% (124 million) of the US population has listened to a podcast – up from 40% in 2017
- 26% (73 million) listen to podcasts at least every month – up from 24% in 2017
- 17% (48 million) listen to podcasts weekly – up from 15% in 2017
When you consider that 80% of regular podcast listeners listen to all or most of each podcast episode, and they listen to an average of 5-7 episodes to week, hopefully you get the idea. Podcasting is terrific medium for just about any industry and any audience, and with growing adoption.
Previous Podcast Efforts
In 2006, I launched my first podcast. After about 6 episodes I quit because it was an incredible amount of work and I couldn’t justify the time required. It was called the Automosphere, but it is so painful to listen to those episodes that I’m not even going to link you to them.
In 2017, we introduced the DealerRefresh Podcast “In the Mix”. This podcast featured versions of our sponsored webinars and some Refresh Friday broadcasts. The best ones however were with my co-host Chris K Leslie where we conversed, opined, and analyzed ideas and trends related to auto retail.
Which leads us to the AutoConverse podcast…
At AutoConverse.com, we explore the people, ideas, and technologies that influence how we are connected and how we get around.
The name AutoConverse was first conceived in 2010. It was meant to be what we were calling at the time a “social e-commerce platform” for automotive owners, enthusiasts, merchants, and dealers.
It never took off. We sunset it after about 18 months. But in 2016 we decided to convert AutoConverse into what it is today – a blog about Future Mobility and Connectivity.
Now, with the AutoConverse Podcast, we have a publishing platform that makes it feasible to bundle in all that we do across all our blogs and social media channels.
