Team USA wins the FIFA Women’s World Cup

For the first time in history, USA win back-to-back world titles. As always with international tournaments, they had to overcome adversity to get there. For the first time at France 2019, the Stars and Stripes were held goalless by half-time. But in the second half, a converted penalty by adidas Golden Ball and Boot winner Megan Rapinoe and a wonderful strike by breakout star Rose Lavelle made the difference in Lyon. USA extend their record with four Women’s World Cup trophies as France 2019 comes to a close.

Boeing and Kitty Hawk Form Strategic Partnership for VTOL

Boeing and Kitty Hawk Corporation recently announced a strategic partnership to collaborate on future efforts to advance safe urban air mobility, effectively vertical takeoff and landing VOTL of passenger drones. The strategic partnership will bring together the innovation of Kitty Hawk’s Cora division with Boeing’s scale and aerospace expertise.

Tesla’s Secret Lab to Build Battery Cells

According to CNBC, Tesla has a secret lab trying to build its own battery cells to reduce dependence on Panasonic. The move could help Tesla offer cheaper, higher-performance electric vehicles than it does today, without having to pay or share data and resources with outside vendors or partners. The main cost component of an EV is its battery pack and battery cells. Since 2014, Tesla has mostly relied on its partner Panasonic to produce battery cells for its vehicles and clean energy products.
