Check Your Transmission Fluid

Firstly, be sure to check your transmission fluids. Everybody remembers to check their oil levels with their dipstick. However, everybody also seems to forget about transmission fluids – they’re just as important! Should your transmission become unlubricated, then you might find yourself in a nasty position. You may be needing a transmission repair. Did we mention that these are extremely costly? They need to be avoided at all costs by looking after your vehicle! If you’re unsure how to check your fluid levels, then check out our handy guide.

Keep Your Tyres Pumped To The Correct Pressure

This one is a fairly straightforward thing to remember! Be sure to consult your car’s manual and check to what tyre pressure your tyres should be inflated. Once you’ve identified the correct pressure, head to your local gas station and have your tyre pressure checked. If it is too low, be sure to inflate them to ensure that you stay safe on the road. Driving with unbalanced or too deflated tyres can lead to steering issues. Over long journeys, your fuel economy will be greatly weakened by having flatter tyres than normal, too. If you want to save yourself, and a bit of cash, then be sure to maintain your car’s tyre pressure correctly.

Keep It Clean

It’s not much to ask is it? Keeping you car clean is a great way of stopping small little problems with your vehicle. Debris collected by your bumper can soon find its way into your engine and cause more serious damage, however. Try and wash your car at least every week to ensure that you avoid these sorts of issues. Keeping your tyres clean and grippy will also make sure that they’re safe. Muddy wheels will only cause you to slide around on the road. Wash your car, it only makes sense!

Check Your Brake Fluids

Next up, be sure to keep on top of your brake fluids. A lack of fluid can cause your brakes to malfunction, and there is nothing more dangerous sounding than that, is there? If you don’t want to end up rear-ending a massive truck, for example, then be sure to top up your brake fluid. This sort of thing is done at a car servicing. So, if you’re having trouble remembering to do it, or you just simply don’t know how, then book your vehicle in for regular servicing. Thi will always ensure that it’s done.

Hopefully, this guide has been helpful in ensuring that you remain safe on the road and that your car stays in a good working order. Let us know of any other tips you may wish to share in the comments section below!
