Auto Review: 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE V6

The 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE comes available in both a V6 package and a V8 package. What you sacrifice to lay hold of the V6 isn’t much when you consider that the Pathfinder is still a worthwhile vehicle no matter how you look at it.

The V6 engine puts out 266 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and is stacked with 24 valves. With 4 liters of engine block the torque is 288 pound feet at 4,000 rpm. It also comes equipped with ULEV emissions.

Both the V6 and the V8 come with continuously variable valve timing control system on all valves, the patented Nissan Direct Ignition System and electronic drive-by-wire throttle. The V6 also comes with platinum-tipped spark plugs and a variable intake system.

The 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE V6 also sports a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, an upgrade from the S trim that comes without manual mode. If your Pathfinder is the 4X4 version then you get 4-wheel Active Brake Limited Slip, otherwise you get the 2-wheel ABLS. As an option you can have all-mode AWD with a 2-speed transfer case on the 4X4 Pathfinder LE.

All Nissan Pathfinders are equipped with 4-wheel vented disk brakes, 4-wheel ABS and Electronic Brake force Distribution.

The suspension and steering is independent double-wishbone on the front and rear. The V6 comes with a 33.0 mm stabilizer bar on the front and a 25.4 mm stabilizer bar in the rear. Plus, you get engine-speed-sensitive power steering.

Cool exterior features include:
